Bluegreen just informed me today that 18% of all reservations are now being booked online. That is an amazing statistic given they didn't announce it. People just started using it.
What's even more bizarre is that the Call Center had a record call volume on Monday. I thought call volume would go down if more people booked online.
Either that or Bluegreen owners are simply going wild with activity. Good sign?

That looks like people are again booking their vacations. This could be a good indication of a positive outlook for the travel industry.
I also think 18% booking online is really great. The site works well (a few suggestions have been made here but nothing is a show stopper) so once it is announced, I think the call volume should back down and the online booking should really increase.
I love that Bluegreen is continuing to move forward, and that we are looking forward to our next two Bluegreen vacations, plus the one in the hat that we will hopefully get.Don

I haven't booked with it, but I have been playing with it considerable to see what's available when. Plus, it gives more information on the units - I had been reluctant to consider Daytona Seabreeze, I think it was, because while one of the units looked fine, I didn't want two of the others even though all were the same points and definition. But the descriptions on the website are specific enough that I could tell which one was the one I thought looked good, so it's on my list of possibilities again. Such a deal!

A few nitpicky comments about the online reservations
Overall I'm wildly, delirously happy with the ability to check availability and book for myself online. This is just great
1) It annoys me to pick through the destination list which has city, state format but is sorted by state (so Gulf Shores, AL; Bradenton Beach, FL, Daytona Beach, FL) and THEN choose my resort. Bonus Time reservations tab just has you pick the resort which makes more sense. At a minimum, they should both work the same way, because hopping from one style to the other annoys me. (do I seem annoyed?)
2) They should auto-fill the current year fields for bonus time. You could change to the next year if you're booking Aruba or Pono Kai, or if it is at the end of the year and bonus time wraps to the following year, but probably 80% of the time it would be a current year date. This annoys me
3) For both points and bonus time reserverations, I wish the "find closest dates" thing would also give you options that are for less days than you've entered. Say I ideally want a five day trip and there is a four day stay available; that won't show up. So I always enter a 2 date stay first and see if I get any hits and then expand from there to add more dates if something looks promising. This feature (showing options with fewer days than you requested) would be especially helpful for people looking for a specific unit type.
4) There is no warning online if the system is having to save points to make a reservation. I made and cancelled a reservation last week online and forgot all about that rule that once the points have been saved, they stay saved. Bummer. It would be nice if they could flash a little message indicating that they'll need to save your points to finish the reservation.
5) I wish they'd add a "day of the week" column for the check in and check out dates so I don't always have to flip over to my computer calendar to see what day of the week is available. Or at a minimum, have a current month calendar popup somewhere on this page.
I LOVE:
1) that you can click on the Total Points column for available units and see the breakdown by day. I don't know why, but I love it.
2) the overall system. Works great. Thanks BG!!

We love being able to use the online booking system. We have used it for 3 reservations already! It is so simple and user-friendly! Great job, BG!

I'll add my wish that there be some sort of "availability chart". I would like to be able to pick 3 months, plus up to 10 resorts, and the system show me a chart of only units that are open to be reserved. It might be a long list but that's what I want. A quick look at what's available to be reserved. This could be spreadsheet style with the resorts/units down the left and the days for the 3 months going across the page. Days that are open to be reserved could be shaded green. Each cell would only have to be large enough that you can tell it's green.
This would be display only and would only be valid as of the time you ran the check. The only functionality would be that you can select a check-in and check-out day for one of the resorts then click a button that feeds that info to the reservation system. The reservation system would then take over and make all the necessary validity checks as it does today.
I would envision this as being a separate program. Once written it would virtually never have to be updated. This assumes that BG maintains a master table of the resorts/units that are available to the Club.

Online reservations
A calendar would help greatly. As mentioned earlier on the thread, it would be great to see which days of the month are open for a particular resort. For example, days shaded in green would be available, red not available. With that information provided, a person can then enter the dates they want based on known availability and a list of available units would appear.
I believe when Bluegreen still had the rental feature on their website it worked like I described above.

It's best to wait until the feature is rolled out next week and check it out for yourself.
or
Are u able to call AFTER you make the online reservation to see what units are available?
How is unit location handled?
