  • Own at Two Resorts?

Is it possible to own a week at two different resorts?

The points with ownership at Falls Village are considerably cheaper than some, so we're wondering if we can pick up a lot of points there, but then also buy fewer points at Big Cedar and still get a priority week there (as well as one at Falls Village).

I think I may just be complicating everything and am wanting more than I really need, lol.

Yes, you can own more than one week. Some people place great emphasis on when/where they own, but I'm more of a "points are points" sort, since we are unlikely to want same place/same time every year. Whatever you own, however many you own, you have priority on that unit week at 12 months out. If you don't claim it, at 11 months anyone can book it.

Do keep in mind that in the Vacation Club, maint fees are the same for every resort in that trust. "Which trust is this one in?" is a question that Boca can answer, I just wanted to make sure you knew that while upfront costs can vary, maint doesn't (generally).

We are about 50/50.. we are thinking "points are points" but we really liked Big Cedar and the fact that its really close to home, plus the fact that my family vacations in Branson every year, it makes sense to us to own in Big Cedar so we can have a great place to get away with our family.

It is true that each Bluegreen Points package has access to its own priority week. In addition, if you own a week at a specific resort, you can get bonus time there. Bonus time access is the much bigger feature. That's because finding the right priority week can be like finding a needle in the haystack. Just because you have a good week, doesn't mean you will have a good unit. If you intend to use your points as points, then chasing a priority week is overkill.

So, say I only bought 8k EOY points at Big Cedar, not caring about what the priority week is. Can I then buy more points from a different resort, but still keep BC as my home resort or does it switch to whatever I buy next?

Also, do the authorized points vary pricewise by resort? We do want enough authorized points to get the perks, but would like some cheap points to get us to where we want to go.

            Bonus Time

Do you only get bonus time at the resort you own if you purchase through an authorized Bluegreen reseller or the developer? Or do you get it no matter how you purchase your points?

My understanding is that you get bonus time at the home resort with unauthorized points (points bought anywhere), although I don't know the rationale behind that and I haven't seen anyone say they've done it. Bonus time at any Bluegreen resort you can only get through Bluegreen or an authorized reseller.
