There are plenty of Big Cedar weekends available between now and next summer that a Sampler owner could get, so what you might do once you're in the system is get a list of the possibilities and see if you could go then, and thus get good use out of your Sampler points.

I'd like to point out that the fact that you can't get what you want right now with Sampler points does NOT mean you couldn't get it with a regular ownership. Your problem is that you're trying to reserve at a very popular resort on fairly short notice. Full ownership would give you much more flexibility than the Sampler does so you'd be more likely to get the dates you'd want, but if Big Cedar is the only Bluegreen resort you're interested in, I'd recommend you reserve as early as possible if you're wanting prime time reservations (which means any holiday week), or invest in a Big Cedar unit during a week you want and then use it every year (you must reserve it 12 months out but if you do so you get it).

Big Cedar is one of the resorts that sells out quickly, but there's weekend availability there right now in January, February, March, April, May and June - just checking a few dates randomly, it looks to me like every month after December has plenty of availability. For that matter, there are studios available three weekends in October and one in November. So if you want to stay at Big Cedar, and only Big Cedar, once you get your Sampler points set up maybe you could ask for someone to check availability and see if there's anything you can work with.

Bluegreen is a very flexible system, which is one of its key selling points, and you're wanting to use it in a fairly inflexible way. The more flexible you are, the more Bluegreen has to offer - if you're flexible in terms of either date, or location, or both, and if you can plan ahead, then Bluegreen is a terrific deal. But if you can't plan ahead, and you aren't flexible in terms of date or location, you're kind of working against the system, so the system may not work well for you.

I really like the way you phrased that. They should staple it to the forehead of every BG salesman.

Thanks to all for the Info

Thank you all for your helpful information. I called three times just checking with the Sampler program to see if we were in the system and finally on the fourth asked for Owner services. I am so glad y'all mentioned to ask for contract verification because for some reason nothing would pull up under our name, phone number, email, or even our contract number. It took some digging for Shannon (BG rep) to finally find our information. She was surprised that we weren't already in the system since it has been a month.

Long story short, we booked for 2 studios so we can bring our friends who are interested in touring the lodge and may choose to purchase. We are taking them as our guests so I asked if BG would offer any incentives to them or us for not having to book the hotel, etc. Anyway, does anyone have any ideas of who to approach, perhaps VIP services when they call to let us know of our owner's update meeting, and what to consider fair to ask under the circumstances. You guys have been lifesavers and I appreciate you very much!
