    bigkenny,

what were your 2009 MF at Oasis Lakes ?

It is also worth remembering when compareing MF that the more points you have the cheaper per point they are when you take into consider the $310 that we all have to pay in Trust fund E and then the cost per point.

So if bigkenny had 2 wekks had Oasis Lakes ie converts to 32000 points then his MF would be cheaper on the points system

For 16000 points at the Fountains for a high red week, the maintenance fees and taxes are $903.60. So, there is no advantage to points vs. weeks.

It's only advantage if you want to travel to other Bluegreen resorts.
Thanks for that info now I don’t know if it was said incorrectly on purpose to make us move over to points. But it was 100% said to me about points owners that they will pay less than week’s owners and it will only get worse for weeks owners!!

Are the main buildings 3 and 4 classed as separate from the rest of the complex i.e. Oasis Lakes and The Fountains when Maintenance fees are due, does it not all go into one big pot. Or are we on are own??

There are 2 HOAs. One for Oasis Lakes and one for the Fountains. Bluegreen manages the resorts and recommends the budgets and updates to the resort.

It is true that over time, there will be less inventory for Flex week owners to float as more owners convert to points. But, owners will never completely convert to points and you can always use your fixed week.

Maintenance fees for points and weeks fluxuates over time. I think they are about equal now. If anything, points may be a bit higher. Oasis Lakes used to have to lowest maintenance fees in all of Orlando. But, that's because they didn't have a reserve fund of any kind. That is why there was a special assessment a couple of years ago.

From a financial point of view, Oasis Lakes is better off if owners convert to points because the maintenance fees are paid by the Bluegreen Vacation Club instead of an owner who could just choose to stop paying and default. So, reserve fund for delinquent owners should go down over time. You should check out your Oasis Lakes annual report to check the year over year stats.

I`ve just hunted down my credit card bill for that month and it was $739.50 I paid. I only have one week, week 4 its a 2 Bedroom Deluxe. These were paid in December 2008

That's a 13000 point week. So, maintenance fees in the Vacation Club would be: $792.30. Pretty close.
