Can anyone make a reservation on the best BG resort at Myrtle Beach? I was there this summer and stayed at the Marriott Ocean Watchn and this summer I plan to stay at one of the BG resorts. We have three small kids and want something good for them and on the beach. We'll definately need something with two bedrooms. Any recommendations?

Shorecrest II is across the street from the ocean. The street in NOT a busy street. Units do not have an ocean view. I understand that they are doing major refurbishments this fall but I do not have details. They have a lazy river. It is in a very quiet area (relative to downtown MB).
Carolina Grande is across a busy street from the ocean. The units are very nice and the outdoor pool is, I believe, on the 6th floor. It is in a busy part of town.
Harbour Lights in on the intracoastal and is at least a mile to the ocean. The units are larger and also quite nice. They also have a lazy river.
If I had 3 young kids, I would go with Shorecrest II. By the way, you can check availability online for the particular dates you would be interested in.

How far of a walk is it from Carolina Grande to the beach? Is the street so busy that you can cross it easily?
Hopefully, someone with kids who has stayed at the Carolina Grande can chime in on crossing the street. Also, you might want to post the same questions on the Bluegreen Yahoo group.

Hands down Shorecrest,
I have stayed at both Shorecrest II and Carolina Grand and would pick Shorecrest for the nicer relaxing beach area. If you want to go to Myrtle Beach it is a realtively short drive.
The street in front of Carolina Grand with small children is very difficult.
There is no courtesey to let people cross either.
The area around Shorecrest is more residential and never a problem to cross.
Enjoy Myrtle Beach it is one of our favorites so far.

Having been to Myrtle Beach countles times, i agree with what everyone else has said. IMO, the rooms at Carolina Grande may be slightly nicer. However, if you want to relax without being in the middle of everything, Shorecrest is the way to go. The street in front of SCII has a small town feel to it. But you are only a couple blocks from the main attractions.
