I've seen both on this board and the yahoo group that you can no longer use resale points to get premier benefits (I think that's the right name) with Bluegreen unless purchased through an authorized reseller. There's no way we can afford to buy through the developer and are still trying to save to make a purchase in a few months to maybe a year or so. Just wondering what exactly these premier benefts are and how useful/beneficial they actually are. I see packages on ebay for virtually nothing but the costs of transfer and closing costs and understand that those points can be used just like any other points, but you can't use them toward getting the benefits. Do I need the benefits and what are they? We'd probably use it mostly to go to Branson, during the week in the summer and maybe an occasional weekend the rest of the year. Thanks in advance for your help.

Falls Creek, in Branson proper, is even easier to get into. So I would say you don't "need" the Premiere benefits at all. Whether you want them is another matter. I'd sure like to have them, and we intend to get enough points to qualify, but we could go Bluegreen for years without ever needing them, y'know?
Boca has a nice rundown on the Premiere benefits here:
Bluegreen - Vip Bonus Time and Premier Member Benefits
One thing you might like to have authorized points for, though, is bonus time, which is the opportunity to pay Motel 8 prices for units up to 48 days before check-in. Supposedly you get bonus time to your home resort even if you buy on e-bay, so if you're wanting to go to Branson you might buy at Falls Village (Big Cedar has less bonus time available, I'm guessing). I haven't been keeping an eye on bonus time availability very long, but from what I've seen there isn't a lot of it and you need to move fast to get it. I expect there's more available off season. Bonus time is great for points-pricey weekends - but only if you can get them!
