  • Please help, desperate to sell timeshare - Silver membership 24,000 pts /year

My husband lost his job 9 months ago with nothing in sight and we can no longer afford the monthly payments for the timeshare.

I'm wondering if anyone knows a venue we can use to sell our timeshare that's not spammy, or that's not going to take $500+ from us to sell it with the likelihood we'll never hear from them again.

I'm looking for either someone who wants to purchase the timeshare, or an agent to sell it that will take a commission of the sale instead of making us pay for it up front. Because, let's face it, 9 months of unemployment means we have zero capital.

PLEASE HELP, WE ARE AT OUR WIT'S END

If you have monthly payments it looks like you still owe money on the purchase. If that's the case you'd probably better be looking to find the REAL value of your points. Resale prices are far below developer (retail) pricing. Depending on how much you owe, you may not be able to sell your timeshare for what you owe against it.

Be aware that timeshares are like stereos or cars - they're worth a heck of a lot more "new" than they are secondhand. As Doug warned, you may not be able to sell it for what you owe.

I hope BocaBum can help you. We've done business with him (well, mostly with his assistant), and can endorse him as honest and helpful.
