paying maint fees with points

How does paying maintenance fees with points work? I had heard it might be worth it to buy more points (if you can get at a great price) and use those points to pay maintenance fees. That doesn't make sense to me. Does anyone know anything about this and if Bluegreen actually lets you do that?

i don't recommend paying maintenance fees with points unless your not going to use your points for anything else. it takes lots of points per dollar/ maint. fees. i have tried it before.

Bluegreen does let you do that but I think it's restricted to certain ownership levels?

It's not good value. Do not buy more points only to use this feature, buy them because you will use them.
