  • how to use points

    Hi all

I recently upgraded to Gold status and find that I have
20000 points to use up before November 30.
Can someone clue me into all the ways I could use these.
    1--take a few trips
    2--convert to RCI points
    3...........

thanks I was caught off guard and didn't realize I had all this
and need to make decisions before 11/30/09

    regards

If you purchase from developer, you should first consider to send out rescind letter. Since does not sound like you know what you actually bought.

        use points

It is with Bluegreen which can access RCI.
I've used my points quite nicely to date but when I
upgraded they gave me a bunch of points which will expire in
November and renew Dec 1st. My question is regarding
creative ways to use the points since that is a lot of traveling in two months that I wasn't expecting.
        thanks

You may want to look at this Bluegreen Resorts - Timeshare Forums

and Bluegreen also have a Yahoo Group
bluegreen : Bluegreen Vacation Club Owners

And you may also want to post your question there.

You can also eMail BocaBum99 or crwisconsin or anyone that frequent post in that forums

You will first need to determine how many days you can vacation till 11/30. It will help to determine what your best approach will be. Not sure if you convert to RCI point, how long it will be expired or what kind of requirement will be (like you need to set up RCI point account). But if you can do that, you maybe able use it to purchase disney ticket or some rental car. You can also consider deposit these point to RCI week. I believe BG will require you pick a week to deposit, if that is the case, don't expect too much trading power.

So many ways you can blast thru those points!

You cannot convert to RCI Points, as that is a separate program, but you can book full weeks to deposit to RCI or II or DAE or any exchange program. That will give you more options and more time in which to use them, BUT, you are really skating on the edge of deadlines for deposit to the companies that employ "trading power".

Personally, were I to have an unexpected points windfall, I would plan a trip and use em all myself. Not so hard to do.

If you can't go, send friends or family somewhere for Thanksgiving. In fact, why not see if you can blow em all in one fell swoop by having a big T week gathering somewhere with mult units???

Great time of the year in Orlando to blow those points. Disney & the parks are great closer to the holidays and then of course Food & Wine is going on now at Epcot.
I'm headed there next week myself.
                Have fun.

Jya-Ning was suggesting the option of actually getting a membership in the RCI Points program, reserving weeks with BG using the soon to be expired BG points, and then depositing the BG weeks into the RCI Points program using the "Points for Deposit" option. In view of the time restraints, the other options you suggested would be much more desirable.
