My wife and I just sent off paper work to purchase BG points thru Pinnacle Vacation. We are excited but wanted to make sure we are on the right track. I have a few questions to but me at ease. 1-Does it matter which property you have a deed to and week since the hole program is point based? 2-At 12000 points are we at any certain level and do the levels help in making reservations? 3-Will resorts let you book times with your points in high season but then at 45 days change you rsvp to use bonus time or just tell them when you check in that you want to use bonus time? Thanks for any help you can give me hopefully i can quit be nervous after this purchase!

Welcome to the group and to Bluegreen. I have been an owner since 2002 and have upgraded to gold a couple years ago. Now, I have more points than I can use.

Bocabum is the expert in our group, and actually has connections with Pinnacle. He can answer your questions and even more than you can think of. Kind of scary. Until he shows up with the right answers, I'll give you some answers.

1-In my opinion, no, it doesn't matter.

2-At 12,000 points, you are not at a level, sorry. So if you find a location/resort you want, at 11 months out, get your reservation in. You can book online, which is really easy to do. I think it is 15K before you become Bronze, 20K for Silver, 35K for Gold and 60 for Plat.

3-I can't help you there. I have so many points I have never used bonus time. I have no idea how it works.

I have booked my next three Bluegreen trips. All three are repeat areas, but either different time of the year or different unit type that will make each of these trips like a new experience.

Yes, it's true, I am a referral agent for Pinnacle Vacations. But, you've already made your purchase. You should contact your agent to help you answer these questions.

They are very reputable and the Bluegreen Vacation Club is a great Club. Keep posting here and we will help you learn to use your Bluegreen points as efficiently as possible.

The only question Vintner didn't answer was regarding bonus time. You can change your reservation so that only part of it is bonus time. But, there are a couple of issues. First, you will have a change fee of $35 or a cancellation fee of $50. Second, you may not be in the same unit for your whole stay. Third, you may lose part of your reservation if another agent grabs those nights when between the time they cancel it and the time they rebook it. If you are going to try it, make sure the customer service agent will allow you to do it and they are fast at rebooking. I have personally lost reservations trying to do something similar.

I just read something on someone elses post that has me worried about booking a summer vacation. I dont get points until April 1 2010 but i have 1300 that were left over from the previous owners. Do I have to have enough points to pay for the vacation at the time of booking it?? I would think that they would let you book it knowing your getting your points before you arrive.... Thanks for any help you can give me

I assume you have not been billed the maint. fees for those points yet. You could prepay your maintenance fees now and get use of those points. Can't use those new points unless you've paid the maint. fee.

Or you could rent points now from someone.
Probably a couple of other ways also - someone else will have to chime in.

Easy. Maintenance fees are due on Saturday unless you have paid them already (this assumes you made a purchase from Bluegreen or resale package that was first purchased prior to Nov 1, 2008).

As soon as you pay them, you can borrow your points from April 1, 2010 and use them for next Summer.

And yes, you must have the points at time of booking, and they must not expire before the vacation dates. This includes needing "Current Points" for seasons above Red bookings. Once those points become Saved, you may only use them for Red and below bookings.

                  future bluegreen points owner maybe

I am looking at buying 10,000 annual points with around $950 maint fee for $3500. Is this a good deal?
I do not see many Bluegreen resorts I would be interested in visiting only
trading in BG points for RCI points but not sure if 10,000 BG points is worth
                  enough to trade.

                  thanks

No, it's not a good deal. I usually have 10000 point packages for $500 with maintenance fees of $715 plus closing.

If you want them with Charter Member benefits, I can help you get them for around $2750 plus closing and maintenance fees.

If you are interested in such packages, send me a PM and I can provide you with details.
