  • Can Bluegreen owners part of the RCI Lawsuit

Does the RCI Lawsuit apply to BG owners which I thik it does? If so when filling out a RCI Weeks Exchange Program Settlement form you have to provide a home resort ID #. I am not sure what to do for an ID #.

I haven't pay to close of attention to the lawsuit looking at it from a monitory point of view. However in the last few weeks I have been doing some online searching and it has my attention now. It is amazing what shows up through the rental program as apposed to members reservations. Now I know why members are very upset.

Yes, Bluegreen owners have an RCI Weeks account.

On resort ID number, I believe we have a generic that shows as part of your RCI ID.

You could otherwise look up in their directory what the ID is for the resort in which (one of) your deed(s) is tied to.

You must be a member of RCI. You should be because BG is supposed to provide that membership for you. Your resort ID would be the ID number of ONE of the resorts where you hold a deed with BG.

If you haven't read about the lawsuit I would suggest you do in the 'Exchange Companies' section of this site, in the RCI forum. It's the topic titled -> TS Today "RCI Fairness Hearing Update".

Many RCI members are sending objection letters to the proposed settlement. A lawyer/timeshare owner has taken up the cause of the objectors to propose changes to the settlement which will make it better for all RCI members.

The original settlement as proposed will only make it better for a couple of years - then RCI gets to go back to what they were doing before.

In a nutshell, RCI has been taking deposited weeks and placing them for rent - never letting them be seen as available for exchange.

I haven't read the requirements for this to participate. Did you have to use (deposit/exchange) RCI during a certain time period, or just be a member of RCI?

I tend to agree with you but I think I will post this in the RCI Lawsuit thread maybe someone there will have a definite answer. I don't want to waste my objection by being disqualified for using the wrong ID # (RCI of BG).

You never know there maybe people hired on behalf of RCI to look at forms for reasons to disqualify the form.

Jim do you have the correct answer?

The objection letter goes directly to the court, with copies to each lawyer. No one will be looking at the court's letter except the court itself.
