Think you'll find DRI own or have affiliated resorts in Eastern USA, including Florida, carolina, Massachusets.

The Orlando and Williamsburg areas are really easy to get into because there are so many other TS in those locations. It's nearly impossible to book into the Massachusetts TS owned by DRI. At one time, I would have been happy to buy more DRI points if the availability was better in the mid-Atlantic area.

Are those resorts owned/managed by DRI or are they affiliated resorts? I've found the DRI managed resorts to be relatively easy to get into. Affilated resorts not so much. With the affilates, there's a limited number of units available to DRI members.

I think that's one of the biggest sales ploys with DRI. They claim to have TS in a large number of places. Yet, so many of them are really affiliated, especially in the smaller resorts (like those in New England) which is why it's so hard to get a week at these places. I would love to see more availability in New England, Ocean City, MD and eastern Canada. Right now, the only way to get into these areas is to trade with II or use a getaway. On the other hand, spending $ once in a while for a trade is still a lot cheaper than paying more MFs for time I might not use every year.

I agree, DRI needs more resorts on east coast.

DRI took over the reins at Los Abrigados resort in Sedona yesterday. Many employees were "hired" back by DRI. Initial reports are that DRI intends to have the restaurants remain in business at the resort. Also, this year's lights festival will probably happen, but the years ahead are uncertain.
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

I'm unfamiliar with the size and scope of the lights festival but, DRI has The Suites at Fall Creek in Branson relatively well lit for the season in keeping with Branson's tradition of celebrating the holiday season.

Here is the website that Diamond has set up for ILX owners- to share info about the transition to Diamond management. I don't think they've done much with it yet- but I believe it will be their primary communication venue for this acquisition.

Thanks for the link. Although I'm not overly interested in more resort choices in AZ, we will be interested in the offering in Estes Park, CO. I had considered exchanging through RCI for the Worldmark resort there but, didn't really want to pay RCI's exchange fee or waste HGVC points on the exchange. Crags Lodge hasn't ever been my first choice but, if it becomes available via DRI internal points exchanges, it would be one I'd be willing to spend points on for a long weekend stay to give it a shot.

It would be great if DRI could gain a better foothold in Colorado with resorts in a variety of locations. I'd love to see something offered in Breckenridge, maybe Vail and Aspen. Estes Park will be a nice addition if inventory does become available to DRI members.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if DRI completely takes over Raintree. It's a combination that makes a lot of sense in many ways. There's almost no overlap in locations, and the quality of the resorts is comparable. And Raintree could stand to have better management.

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

                          “You shouldn't wear that body.”

I took a closer look at Historic Crags Lodge. While I still hold the opinion that the units are so small (265 to 325 sq ft) I wouldn't want to exchange one of my existing units and pay an exchange fee, using DRI points for a few nights or maybe even a week appeals to me. Hopefully this will become available to DRI members in the next 2 or 3 years.
