  • Recieved a nice offer from DRI today

Recieved via snail mail a nice offer but, due to it's realitve short notice, I doubt we'll be able to take advantage of the offer. Not to mention it's a little cold and definately off season but, all the same it's a nice offer and, if we needed a short break it wouldn't be all bad.

The offer is for 2 complimentary nights at Grand Beach in Orlando, either Greensprings or Powhattan in Williamsburg or The Suite's at Fall Creek in Branson. If we could arrive in January they'd toss in a $100 Visa gift card and Feb. dates would recieve a $50 gift card. Of course we'd have to attend the owners update but, DRI's almost never been a hard sell (only one notable exception since 1998) and I don't mind talking with the sales staff.

I would feel bad about taking a salesmans valuable time when I know I own more timeshare than I can easily use and won't be buying anymore so, normally we wouldn't even venture to think about the promotional offers. All the same I thought this was one of the better offers I'd seen. Especially since Orlando in Jan. or Feb. is a reasonably attractive destination since the kids aren't overwhelming the town and, even though cooler than other times during the year it has to be better than the single digit and low teen's temps we're experiencing right now.

When they solicit like this, they know what you own, or should, so I wouldn't feel bad at all. They know what they're doing, they know the numbers.

I agree that for people like you and me, the owner update is a chance to get a little info, but for the uninitiated it can be a hard sell.
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®
