I think some of the resorts have already begun. At least I read on some forum that they were at a resort that started the newspapers anyway. I guess you could call any resort your visiting to see if they have begun yet. I figure by the summer they should have everything set.

I will be at KBC this summer and I hope I won't have to pay for the internet. I was quite upset last year when I was at Grand Beach and had to pay for each computer that was used. It was especially upsetting after I had just stayed the previous week at Marriott and it was free to use the internet.

The manager heard it from me about that and I sent a comment card and letter about it. With maintenance fees so high, I cannot understand why we don't have free internet.

I've stayed at several resorts in the past weeks all Diamond managed and have yet to see these upgrades. I cannot remember did Diamond officially release a letter about the upgrades, or is this coming from the sales team / owner updates?

We're checking in next month at Palm Springs Marquis Villas and were told on booking they have instituted a new $5.00 daily fee for internet/parking that was previously free...we're elite members and see DRI going backwards, rather than forward, at this location. This fee will be even more for non-DRI guests. We've made our displeasure known but maybe we're the only ones, as it's set it stone now and they are already charging this fee. Seems like the same old nickel and diming.

It was in the online owners guide this year.

Marquis Villas is not a DRI managed resort, so you won't ever see Elite Benefits there or anywhere else where DRI isn't "there" to deliver the Benefits.

              Must Have Wayport

I just looked at the 2010 Annual Members Directory on the Diamond Website after you log in in the members' area. If you look under Elite benefits on pages 12 or 13, you will see that there are ** next to the free internet usage. Apparently it will only be at resorts where they have Wayport services installed. It says that implementation will be ongoing through 2010.

              I hope that helps.

Sounds like they may be trying to go with one service provider for WiFi over time at DRI managed resorts?

Greensprings and Powhatan have started delivering the USA Today news paper about a month ago. No free INTERNET services for Silver Elite members and above Elite Members as of this post @ either resort.

Greensprings had new Cuisinart stainless steel toasters, coffee pots, blenders
and a very nice upgraded pots and pans set.

Our last visit was March 2010.

I didn't get the free paper at Powhatan earlier this Month but I did get the free internet connection, much appreciated!

Daytona Beach Regency had free internet and parking last week when I was there.

We stayed at KBC on Maui 2 weeks ago and had free internet, parking and paper. The internet was wired and the charges were reversed at the end. Last week at the Point at Poipu it was the same except everybody parks for free. All are appreciated since we should get something for paying all those MF's.
