Hi - Last week I was very sad to find out that my 11,000 (paid in full) membership to Diamond Resorts had been cancelled because we didn't pay the 2010 Maintenance Fees. We bought the timeshare back in 2006 from SunTerra. I honestly don't remember ever seeing a bill, and they said that they sent a certified letter also, but I don't remember ever signing for one. (It was a busy & stressful year and I guess I could have misplaced it or sometimes my kids get the my mail if you know what that means. Also, we do sometimes have problems with our mail because there is another street with the same name a couple of miles down the road.) But I'm mostly upset because no one ever phoned us or e-mailed us. Anyway, I saw your website and saw that it has happened to other people before, so I emailed a couple of the contacts that were suggested, and actually sent a written letter to the finance department. I don't know what else to do, does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance.

Is his membership simply "gone with the wind"? And does that mean they basically confiscate his time on his share? And has "lost" all future "time"?
If this is the case, its a damn good idea to never get into the trust AND find a legal way to get the hell out of it?
Or does it mean he is just simply out of the "club" and has to pay back into it? (plus the overdue fee's).
I can sympathize with the guy....wife was severely ill, father had cancer and succumbed to it, mother is disabled and had to find a place for her to live nearby, etc. Its easy to overlook things when life has become overwhelming.

Best advice......
Seek clarification of why your membership was cancelled. You received MF bill in past years??
Please contact me and I will be very happy to assist you in clarifying. General rule, fees are annual and we generally never forget to send out a bill
Cordially,

IMHO - one of the elements that does set DRI apart from every other similar operation in North America is DRI's efforts to listen to member comments and to let people know that senior management is listening, paying attention, and devoting effort to try to satisfactorily resolve situations such as described above.“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”
“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”
“You shouldn't wear that body.”
