i have spent the evening looking over the forum and this look like the place to be for timeshare info.
i probably have a story you have heard many times over. we fell prey to an excellent sales pitch and purchased an odd year week at the Ridge on Sedona golf resort when it was still Sunterra.
we have never used it even though we live 30 minutes from it. i know that is foolish and we have felt guilty about it for years. the initial purchase of the deeded property has been paid off for many years and now we dread the yearly fees.
we have looked into trying to sell it a few times... got burnt one time for a couple hundred dollars and have just resigned ourselves to never using it and regretting it.
the DRI website lists us as having the following...
Ridge on Sedona Golf Resort
week- 18
unit- privacy
season- red
points- 2500
status- active
what does all that mean? what can i do with it?
per a post i read earlier i was thinking that if we had purchased the unit from Sunterra and never actually became 'club' members with DRI then there might not be an ownership transfer fee?
at this point we would love to just 'give it back' and be done with it.. but i understand that our ignorance in its use is not the fault of the timeshare.
the wife now has MS and is disabled... my employment is tenuous at best and our 2 kids (the reason we had grand plans to take them to see the world and time shares) are mostly grown... so no need to for that...
i thank you for any ideas or options you can give me and i appreciate your time and expertise on this subject...
