Since former Sunterra executive Ian Podesta (called IPod by some of his fans) turned whistleblower, storm clouds have been swirling around Sunterra Europe. Sunterra itself has formally raised the possibility of selling off their European operation, and their largest shareholder has openly demanded such action. The rumored buyer is Club La Costa, which is supposed to have already secured the financing to do so.
The US-based timeshare boards have not paid much attention to these developments, but the Sunterra boards at www.timesharetalk.co.uk have been full of debate on both sides of the issues. The Sunterra board at www.crimeshare.org has also been full of info, some of it right out of Citrus House (Sunterra Europe HQ).
