Most Interval International affiliated resorts only allow for deposits 12 months in advance. There are a few who allow deposits further than that but not many. So looking further than 12 months in advance may be a waste of time.

Depending on the seasons you're asking for, you made need to deposit and do an ongoing request. Instant exchange online searchs don't often turn up much for either of the two locations for which you are looking.

I have made exchanges into Hawaii but, it was a deposit first, request and wait for a match.

DRI owns several resorts in Hawaii and a few in the Carribean. Did you try to book directly with them?

I believe all of DRI's resorts on Oahu are affiliates (if there are any, I haven't looked for that island). The Hawaii Affiliated resorts don't show availability very often.

I did a quick search and realized you are right. There are no available weeks for DRI's Oahu resorts all the way through next summer.

That brings up an important question. Is there a list somewhere of which TS are owned by DRI and which are affiliates? I know the New England resorts are affiliates. How about others? It makes a big difference because, as you said, it's nearly impossible to book into an affiliate resort (though I have seen occasional openings in New England - they just get snatched up right away).

Your documents showed a list of resorts and the available unit-weeks; it's easy to see which are which, just from that!

Can Be difficult but not impossible

Depending on when you want to go to Oahu, it can be very, very difficult to find accommodations. However, I did look this weekend and there was availability in Oahu. I can't remember when but it was a little ways out. Unless you are in the Hawaii collection, I would suggest that you look at the 10 month mark. Fairway Villas was what I saw and it is right in downtown Honolulu in Waikkiki. In fact there are 3 of them (affiliates) within about 4 blocks of each other. I have visited all of them and they are fine. They are like apartments in an apartment building.

Not sure which documents to which you are referring, unless you are talking about the list of club resorts? We are in the trust and have points (no ownership at any one resort). I've never seen any documents that sound like what you are referring to.

You look at the list of resorts that are in each trust "collection". Any resort that is listed as a club resort but that is not in one of the collections is an affiliate.

The only DRI resorts on O'ahu are Fairway Villa and Royal Kuhio, both of which are affiliate resorts that show up in DRI inventory through the Vacation Internationale connection. Since those resorts are not part of any trust, they are not available to club members until 10-months before check-in.

Prior to ten months before check-in they should be available to owners who are part of the Club because they are VI members who got into Club Sunterra while Sunterra was involved with VI. I don't know the details of how the usage rights for are handled for Club members who are in the Club because of the old VI connection and how that intertwines with the VI inventory that shows up in VI.

                    ******

also my experience with booking VI inventory through DRI is that the VI is seldom available in full week increments. Whenever I see it, it appears in two- to four-day increments.

You're right about there only being two Oahu affiliates. For some reason I thought I visited 3 of them. Did they lose a resort or did I just make an error? I could have sworn there were 3.
