Mystic Dunes is a very nice resort. I put a co-worker into that resort on an AC a few years back and they were impressed. We also toured that resort back in 2000 and thought it was a very nice resort, we just didn't care much for Orlando. It has a decent location close to Disney World. I believe DRI will be managing this resort. Hopefully there we will begin to see good availability in the next few years. Not that I'm all that interested but, sometimes well allow co-workers or friends to use some of our points.
The location of Myrtle Beach is also of interest to me if there is availablity. If it's an affiliated resort, sometimes there's not a lot of inventory. The problem I have with Myrtle Beach is the cost for use to get from here to there. I almost purchased a week there before I learned typical airfare for us would be in the $500 per person range. That and I just really couldn't use another week. Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

Nice, maybe, but with a troubled past (present?).
You can bypass the price of ownership and stay there through Hotwire for $59/night.
Just guessing? Nope.
Kinda funny, chuckling funny . . . in the old days the debate was "Developer or Resale . . . will you get the same thing?"
Now you can add Neither.
In the old days, the pitch to get you to buy was a paltry square box (motel) or a luxury condo (by buying). Now you can get the latter without buying.
Fairly common in the overbuilt locations where the powers that be are scrambling to come up with $$$ to pay the bills.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

There is nothing to get excited about when it comes to a financially troubled resort in an area that has way too many resorts to susttiin value in any of them.
Golf resort opportunities are a dime a dozen in the Orlando area and better deals than timeshare deals are readily available all over the Internet. I get a dozen Orlando golf emails every day.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

Mystic Dunes is a very nice resort.. The villas are high quality (although noise issues have been reported in a few reviews) and the onsite amenties are nice.. (Last time I was there the golf course had some yellowing- but everything still looked fine). It's an easy drive to the Disney resorts, or to the other nearby theme parks.
Since this resort has historically been sold as weeks, availability via points may be inconsistent until the majority of weeks owners are bamboozled into converting to points.
During the bankruptcy and sale to Diamond- the resort focused on rentals to fill rooms so current rental prices are likely lower now than they will be in the future.my travel website: Vacation-Times.org.
