  • Which St. Martin Resort

Diamonds has 3 St. Martin properties: Flamingo Beach Resort, flamingo Beach Villa and Royal Palm Beach Resort. There are too many types of accommodation which are confusing to me.

Which one would you pick? We are a party of two adults but still want space, at least a one bedroom, and will not stay at a studio. We want ocean front or at least an ocean view, warm, quiet, comfortable beach, nice and large swimming pool, kitchen a must, in room wi-fi and a balcony. Which resort is newer or has recent renovation.

Points requirement is not a major concern. It seems all properties always have last minute 50% discount. Airfare will decide when we will go.

    Thanks alot.

    Royal Palms

My wife and I stayed at Royal Palms last year and were very pleased. All rooms were 2 bedroom and very spacious. The common area had sliding glass doors that would open the entire room to the balcony if desired. The beach was private and included lounges and Palapas for shade at no charge. The pool was small but not crowded. The onsite dining was good and we were within walking distance of several good restaurants. There was also a free water taxi over to the Flamingo Beach area. We did rent a car later in the week in order to explore the island.

Studios at FBR are very big, but you'd really like to have the Saba view (pool) or ocean view as the Garden view are still great units but balcony looks on nothing.

FBV is in same location as FBR and all units are 2BR lockoffs, front side units are nice, back side units are, too, but have little or no scenic view.

Any 2BR at RPB is great.

Two years ago, I was looking into a trip there and did alot of research. The Royal Palm seemed to be the best option.

We stayed at the Royal Palms two years ago and it is by far the best resort of those you mentioned. All units are oceanfront and are very spacious. You have the beach or swimming pool out front and the location is great.
