I do own 1 week every year and 3 in the odd year. Bought them over time because we loved it so much. My HOA has doubled since I bought, now $1500 a year for each week. I have been willing to pay it,even though I know I could rent for less. When I called Diamond last Friday, I was told that this is what the board had agreed to. I have since learned that the majority of the board votes are Diamond's own. I am on a couple of other blogs trying to get as much help as I can. In the end, I am sure that we are all going to be losers. My heart really goes out to those that really can not afford the payments.

If there was a contest for the worst thing that could happen at the worst time, this would at least get nominated.

I just talked to the Office of Consumer Protection in Hawaii. He told my to go to www.hawaiigov/dcca/rico/forms and download the forms, send them to the address at the top of the first page. I had him look up complaints of Diamond Resorts and he found many. At this time, I do not know what else to do. I have talked to an attorney friend and he said a class action suit will take lots of time and very expensive. Will stay in touch.

Diamond just dumped 50 odd units in RCI's exchange pool for 2nd quarter 2012. Already trolling for new owners to pay.

Are you sure those just arrived? Since there's a six month home resort exclusivity for the old Embassy Resorts, it's possible those have beenin the RCI Spacebank for probably about a year, andy ou're seeing them now because they're lees six months to check-in.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

                  “You shouldn't wear that body.”

DRI hasn't been banking the way they used to or RCI isn't making them available the way they used to. (Pick your demon). These just showed up this morning. March thru June which is as much as 8 months out.

Do you think that filing this complaint is going to do any good?

Or even what the specific complaint might be. "They're charging me too much money" or "My condo is poorly managed" isn't the type of complaint that is going to receive much attention from an attorney general.

                          I meant to say oceanview.

The Point at Poipu - Timeshare giveaway

I'm just trying to get rid of my timeshare at the Point at Poipu. It's a 2-week, even year only timeshare. If someone will take this off my hands (along with the $5,900 in assessments due over the next 3 years), I'll happily give it away. It cost us about $21,000 upfront when we bought it sometime around 2004. If you have any interest or know someone that does, please respond.

The Attorney General's office gave me the contact information for RICO. Below is the response I got via email:

"...the Regulated Industries Complaints Office (RICO), of the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs investigates and where appropriate prosecutes complaints against timeshare organizations. Thus, RICO has jurisdiction and is the appropriate agency to review your complaint. Should you wish to file a complaint with RICO you may reach them as follows":

                              Regulated Industries Complaints Office
Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs
                              Leiopapa A. Kamehameha Bldg.
                              235 S. Beretania Street, FL. 9
                              Honolulu, Hawaii 96813

                              Telephone: (808) 586-2666

RICO can also be reached via the web at the following address:

Regulated Industries Complaints Office (RICO) — Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs

                              Hope this helps.

So what is the basis of the complaint? I don't like that they billed me so much? I think we need to make clear the complaints and substantiate them with evidence/facts. I just want longer than 90 days to cough up $2,000. Any of you planning to attend the meetings this month?
