  • What's the value of Club points

Have an "opportunity" of trading in 217k Wyndham points and obtaining 3k The CLUB. This will only cost $12 grand (upfront) + $850 in annual fees.

This will allow me to pay $654 less in total annual fees. I presently pay $2345 to Wyndham annually.

I will then have 154k Wyndham points rather than 371k.

I wonder why would I pay $12,000 to own less.
Also, how difficult is it to stay at CLUB places with only 3000 points?

I really wish Diamond would just buy from me and I then would rent where I wish.

    Spouting here. Any experienced comments?

I'm sure others with more DRI experience than I have will comment, but this would be a very silly thing to do. Decide for yourself, here is the DRI Directory.

Have to Be Able to Compare Apples to Apples

      Hello,

I don't understand what you are asking us to compare? I am a DRI owner, but I have no idea what 3000 Wyndham points will get you.

I can say this about Diamond. 3000 points will not get you much of anything except low season studios for the most part. Kiss Hawaii goodbye unless somehow you are able to work a trade with II in some way.

Your best bet to get usage from these points would be to save them to another year to have 6000 points. This way you would be able to stay a week at many more of the properties.

However, only you will be able to compare your Wyndham points to the DRI points.

Keep your $12 grand & use a little of it each year to pay your Wyndham fees

3,000 THE Club points won't get you anywhere. IMHO, this is a bad deal. Think studio units, short stays in larger unit or staying in the very off season at resorts.

I would be VERY suspect of any "trade in" program.

Was at Williamsburg. I don't know that any resort was referred to... only 3000 DRI points.

I too believe that would allow access to one or two weeks in low season or several 2 or 3 night stays most anytime. Possibly access to II at $$$ per week.

I don't see where 217k Wyndham points gets much either, but when grouped with my other 154k, I have the advantage of VIP discounts.
If I traded, that advantage also would go away.
