  • Brad from DRI called me from LV

Taking my evening nap and the phone rings. Area code 347 on the id. Hello this is Brad calling from Diamond Las Vegas, you stayed at Sedona ..... CLICK!

Just what the heck are they thinking. I am on the Do Not Call list. Do they really think I was going to entertain a sales call.

All I did was stay in Sedona last September. Has anyone else received these annoying calls from DRI people?

Not DRI-but I got one from Marriott. I own Marriott and exchanged in to NCV. I expect the resort to email me about my preferences but NOT for the Orlando Office to call me about "my upcoming stay"

Luckily it was just one call, left on my voice mail.

I get about 6 to 8 calls a week from a few time share sharks. I tend to leave them on if I am not doing anything. I try to get them to either say the sales pitch or drive them to the point that they hang up on me. You should try it believe me it is fun knowing there sales line before they can tell them to you.

We have our phone line and then we have our emergency cell phone line who's number is not given out. If I'm asleep, anyone can call and not wake me.

My problem now is our wonderful government, who thought it would be a GREAT idea to release cell numbers to telemarketers. Even though we don't give our emergancy number out, now we get calls. Nice!

FWIW, since you stayed at a DRI resort, the do-not-call list no longer applies. They now have a business relationship with you. This is not a new practice and one we've dealt with since our first exchange (Westgate of all places). If we don't want the calls, they get Jenny's number (867-5309).

BTW, if you're ever in a grocery store that has those wonderful shoppers cards and you don't want to sign up for one to get the discounts, it's been reported that the 867-5309 number works well there too! For us most of the grocery stores we use are either Safeway or Kroger affiliated so, it's not a problem. I've got their mini-cards on my key chain and one or the other almost always works no matter what the store name might be.

If you call 867-5309 in CT-you will get a car dealership.

I would think that they would turn more people off with these cold calls that skirt the intent of the Federal DNC statutes, than they reap in benefits, but if they make a sale to one in one thousand does it pay for Brad?
