  • Powhatan Plantation Deed-backs

Sunterra has agreed to buy all forclosures from the Powhatan HOA, paying all foreclosure costs and maintenance fees, while good for the HOA it's also great for Sunterra as they get almost free inventory to meld back into the 'Trust' and sell as 'new.'

I asked if Powhatan was now taking deed-backs as that would make sense saving forclosure proceedings/costs and the answer was YES.

Unhappy owners might jump on this. I've also been constantly pushing for a reasonable Club Conversion fee for current Powhatan owners as was done at Polynesian Isles, nothing yet.
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

Since Sunterra controls the HOA at Powhatan, this is an insider deal, and it will allow Sunterra to continue to control the HOA, rather than the owners.
They will vote all of the ''club'' weeks from now on, and encourage members to bail out.

With behavior like this you couldn't give me a Sunterra week. And with what Fairfield is doing at Bluebeards Castle, ditto for them! If you like developer dictatorship rather than homeowner democracy, go for one of the big chains!
Heck, Bluegreen doesn't even have a pretext of an HOA.
