I'm not aware of this designation, if you're talking about recently ended Item number: 160086877501, it goes on to describe a Trust membership without saying so. These were called Club Sunterra Vacations-1 CSV-1.

You should be able to combine the points into a single CSV-1 membership.

If you keep these as Trust or CSV-1 memberships, there is no way to 'combine' the points with a Club Sunterra membership. They can all be combined if you convert everything to the Club.

If you have converted your Sedona deed to Club Sunterra then you can use it all all ~100 Club resorts. Recent threads have updated info on what the latest conversion offers have been.

There is a large one of these for sale in the Beta classifieds on TUG maybe here, too, I haven't looked.

Prior to that it was just a standard deeded floating or fixed week that was sold.

While visiting my account on-line yesterday, I noted that our Hawai'i trust ownership is described as a UDI. I assume that is a UDI in whatever deeds the trust holds for the two Hawai'i resorts.

Exactly, My CSV-1 Trust or 'Florida' Trust are the same as you describe online.

I have to ask about purchasing the points on EBay. I just turned down the offer (7500 points for each of my weeks to go in the trust, and buy 3000 points per week for $6000 each, plus higher maintenance fee and all the other fees) while I was at my home resort, so I keep my weeks. But can I buy points and participate in Club Sunterra? How?

You weren't quite that explicit in your posts over yonder. Having to buy 3000 points for $6000 for each of your two weeks is a little excessive, most sales centers with little bargaining would do all you own for the one 3000pt/$6000 charge. I also don't quite understand how your maintenance fees would go up, my experience with RPB was MFs of $696 and I got 6000 pts for each week that was a MF of ~11.6¢/pt your fixed weeks sounds like would get 7500 pts so a MF of ~9.3¢/pt. The Trust has a MF of 7.3¢/pt, then you had to pay a base assessment of $119 and a Club fee of $151, that's where you might think that the MFs were more. Your two weeks were $1392, your two weeks converted were 15000x.073=$1095 even if you added $119 you're still less at $1214. You can't count the Club $151 that's your reservation fee and lets you also have access to II. Maybe you're thinking 21000x.073=$1533+119+151=$1803 is more but you're getting almost a whole other week worth of points/MFs along with access to the Club. I think your maintenance fees lowered!

You can buy the points you see on eBay and participate in the Trust. You must go to a sales center and convert to have access to the whole Club, just like they tried to get you to do with your RPB weeks.

Don't feel bad about if you're confused. It took me about a year before I finally felt like I had a decent grasp of Sunterra.

The basic principle regarding Club Sunterra resales is that Club Sunterra membership cannot be transferred in private sale. So anything you buy as a private will not be part of Club Sunterra after you buy it.

What you do get when is whatever the ownership represents outside of Club Sunterra. If the ownership is for deeded week or a right-to-use at a specific resort, that is what you have. If the ownership is a UDI in the Florida (or CSV-1) Trust, then you can reserve in those resorts, but not anywhere else in Club Sunterra. If the ownership is in the Hawai'i trust, then you can reserve in those resorts, but not anywhere else in Club Sunterra.

              *****

IOW - you can't buy SunOptions. If you try to, all you will have is the underlying ownership. Resales can only become part of Club Sunterra if you pay a fee to have them added after you have bought them, and Sunterra only makes Club Sunterra membership available if you add to your membership with a purchase from them.

              *****

What Spence does when he converts resale weeks to Club Sunterra is negotiate a deal that allows him to convert additional resale units to Club Sunterra without a fee for a certain period. So he might negotiate a deal to buy, say 2500 additional SunOptions from Sunterra, which also enables him to convert existing resales he owns to Club Sunterra as part of the transaction. Then he tries to get a clause that allows him to convert any additional units he acquires in the next year for no additional fee.

Then he goes on a buying spree.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

              “You shouldn't wear that body.”

                Now I understand...

OK---That all makes sense; what the salesman said was your total fees for the year would go from $765 (maint. now) to $1000. In all, too much cash to Sunterra for the value of paper promises.
At any rate, given I can't leave the Club membership to my sons, I'd rather have them inherit the leaseholds I have. Thanks again.

I believe you can pass the Club membership to family.

If you have udi in a particular resort are the sales people less likely to include that in conversions versus deeded weeks, furthermore what sales offices or sales persons are more agreeable in your experiences. I really want to get my weeks converted by next year. I own at powhatan and cypress pointe my total conversion would be about 65,000 options

UDIs were 'designed' to be in the Club as SunOptions, there have been no reports of these deeds being handled any differently in conversions from fixed or floating week deeds.

It pays to shop around, I think recent reports have indicated better conversion 'deals' at Las Vegas, but it all depends.

                          Spence thanks once again

I will update how the conversion goes and price check around the country. I just will not walk into another sales center however.

                            Mace,

I did some shopping around and did find the best deal in Las Vegas. I spoke to Scottsdale, and Virginia as well. The LV office is small maybe they are more anxious to make a sale.

I paid $3,930 for 3,000 pts and they converted my resales into Club. Sales Manager's name was Bill Paradise. I sent several other Sunterra resale owners to LV as well. Any purchase can be done via Mail. You can e-mail me at Austinscarehomes@cox.net if you have any questions.

How many points did you convert and did you keep the deeds because I personally want my deeds since they have a cheaper MF associated with them than the trust 7.5 cents per point. By the way Bill Paradise what a great name!

                              thanks

                                Jason,

Yes, Bill is the Sales Manager at the Desert Paradise Resort in LV. How funny is that! I converted 33,000 pts into Club to become plat elite with 51,500 pts. I did keep my 30,000 deed at Scottsdale Villa Mirage. The 3,000 I brought in was Florida Trust. Good Luck.
