  • Bringing Greensprings deed into points, a question

I've been reading awhile here, but this is my first post. This has been quite an education, and I thank you. We recently joined Club Sunterra and brought our resale Powhatan deed into points while keeping our deed, and obtained Silver Elite Status. We just received our membership. We did this through the retail sales office in Williamsburg. Since then we have bought a resale unit a Greensprings representing 13,000 points. It will bring us to Gold member status if we bring the deed into club. My questions: We're buying week 23 (June 10-17); should we bring this to Club after that date? I understand we will get the points this year, 2007, if we bring them into club before June 30. Is this true and will this be possible? Is it worth it to bring this deed into club, or would it be wise to buy additional unit(s) and bring them in all together at the same time to go to platinum elite? We're just starting retirement, so we hope to be travelling a lot during the next 5-10 years. We really don't intend to stay at Greensprings, and bought because the price seemed right and it offers a lot of points for the MF. I'm not sure what other questions I should bring here, and I thank you for your experiance and wisdom.

Did you just get this on eBay 29Jan for $2576+CC? Not a bad buy, my snipe was at $1111 though. You're right, Greensprings and Powhatan Summer and Holiday weeks do OK for MF/SunOption. I don't think you'll get 2007 points for it unless you get it into the Club before it's use date, that's my experience and opinion and only makes common sense. If you are thinking about more, you should get all you're getting then negotiate with sales to bring them all in for the purchase of 2000 SunOptions for $5000, UNLESS you really did just join Club Sunterra and you can negotiate free conversion based on your very recent purchase. I've also seen it negotiated that you convert your new purchase by buying the SunOptions and getting them to agree that you can bring any other properties in within the year. There's a lot that's negotiable after the bottom line 2000pts/$5000.

Wow, Spence, you are right! That was us on Jan 29th. Thank you for your quick response. Should I call the salesperson who brought us into the Club and see about the options you spoke of, or should I call Corporate? After listening to at least 5 sales presentations over the years at Sunterra, we finally found the person who I believe gives direct answers and doesn't confuse us like they're "trained" (I believe) to do! Off topic, but I just got the new SunGlances yesterday and see the re-done resort, Misiones at Cabo, is there. It's not in the SunOptions directory, but I'm curious about it.

Corporate will not help you, they will not deal with conversions, that's the latest. I'd talk to the person you've found at the Sales Center and see if you can get them to add the new one now, gratis, either because you just did it, or because you'll be doing a couple more in the near future and will be paying again then. Cabo, should be available for booking come summer sometime.
