  • Club Sunterra Question

I'm a new poster. I have 8,000 Sunoptions. I want to book a cruise. Sunterra does not have the cruise I want available. So I want to transfer my Sunoptions to Interval International & pay the fee to book the specific cruise I have. I was told today by Interval International that they use either 4,000 or 9,000 points. I can't use the 8,000 I have. I a couple of questions 1) is there any way for me to do a one time purchase of 1,000 Sunoptions 2) Interval Internation also said that my 4000 Sunoptions would be only worth $500 -$1000 depending on the cruise in trade. Question is it worth doing a Sunoption trade for a cruise?

    Thanks for your help

There is no facility to do onetime rentals or transfers of SunOptions between accounts.

II, RCI, and Club Sunterra Cruise programs are never worth doing in my opinion. I think I remember someone saying that if you were booking enough cabins with the RCI program you could come out ahead.

Last year I inquired about trading a week for a cruise, RCI told me that my RED week was only worth $100 off 1 of the 4 fares I was going to book. A definite rip off to be sure.

You cause next years points to make up the differents.

          Assuming you meant
You can use next year's points to make up the difference.
That's true, you can pay ahead on maintenance fees and borrow from the coming year or you could have saved from the previous year to have more points in any year in Club Sunterra. While you cannot use more than an annual allocation for any of the Sunterra Options, you should be able to use more than a year's worth in II.
