  • Sunterra Travel services worth checking out

Just returned from Pto Vallarta. Three days before we left we decided to reserve a car.

After hunting around all of my usual sites, the best deal I had was a compact at Avis for ~$235. On a whim, I decided to check Sunterra; they offered me a compact at Thrifty for $84 for the week. Third party liability added $7 per day. [edit third party liability was $11/day - my bad. If you take Thrifty's CDW, though, it's included.].

By far the best deal, and a much better deal than Thrifty came up with at any other site, including their own site.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

    “You shouldn't wear that body.”

Never knew Sunterra had a travel services dept. Do you have to own in the Sunterra chain to use them?

My guess is, no, they'll take anyone's money. Sunterra Travel Services 877-258-2786

I guessed wrong, the CSR I talked to said you had to be a member; whether that meant Club Sunterra member or Sunterra owner, I don't know.... and they couldn't do any better on my Xmas air to STT than I've been finding.

They're certainly not consistently cheaper. When I've checked them for other travel they've been about like every other site.

But this time they came up with a rate that no place else had available.

I wasn't doubting your report! And I appreciate the data! Was hoping to find a miracle.

Can I use them for Europe? I need a hotel in Athens and car rentals in Germany and Greece.

Why don't you go to the website - Spence posted the link - and see what happens?

I started to earlier but got caught up in other things. I see that they do cover Europe. I Have not shopped around yet so I do not know if they have good deals compared to others. This might get me to start looking now which I should be doing anyway.

I tried it last night for car rentals in MUC. I got a slightly better rate with AAA. I am going to keep looking and see if it does well with Hotels in Greece.
