  • ?How to sell my Sunterra Points on ebay?

I am planning to possibly sell my 10K points on ebay. WHat do I need to do in order to make this as smooth as possible?

Do I need an escrow company? What is a good reputable company?

    Any tips would be appreciated.

What are your 10K points? Are they deeded property in the Club or are they part of the 'Trust?' Either way, you must know that you can't sell your Club Sunterra membership, only the deed or Trust membership. New owner will have to pay to re-join the Club. That's how Sunterra discourages resales and devalues them.

You might watch eBay Item number: 270121076840
and/or search for recently completed auctions. As you will see although 10K points is sold by Sunterra today for $30K, eBay only draws a tenth of that or so.

Do you need escrow and clsoing help, no. Might a buyer want it, yes. All you have to do is fill out some papers with Sunterra if it's a Trust membership you're selling.

It's a trust with the 21 resorts. I still have this year's 10K that I can bank if needed for a total of 20K for next year. I never converted to full membership and of course I wouldn't misrepresent that on my auction.

So if I sold it on ebay, I would contact Sunterra and they would give me the correct forms needed to transfer ownership of the trust?

And are there any other costs involved in the transfer? I notice a lot of closing costs, transfer fees, etc on other resales.

I just don't want to suprise the buyer with any extra fees that I forget to state on my auction.

      Thanks for your help Spence.

Yes, you can call Sunterra for the form for Trust transfer, there is no cost if you do it yourself. There are costs if you have someone else do it for you and if the buyer wants that then the buyer would pay.
