  • SunOptions-convert to FF miles and selling?

For left over SunOptions, what is the conversion rate (x SunOptions for y Frequent Flyer Miles) ? Say, use American Airlines as example.

Also, can we sell unused SunOptions (from deeded, Club Sun) to other members through eBay? If yes, what are reasonable prices for these?

Any of the member options are a bad deal, with the 'best' being conversion to maintenance fees at .0585/pt (as compared to the MF charged by Trust of .073/pt). I don't remember what the conversion to Miles is/was, but it wasn't good, I think I did it once at a minimal amount to keep a FF acct alive once. I'm in the boonies on dial-up and can't get this page to download, but it may have the info...

When you say for 'leftover' SunOptions you're way off base... the deadlines for any of these member options is around January with extended deadlines for different levels of elite membership, so it's not for leftovers, you have to plan ahead.

You're asking, can one time use be sold and transferred between member accounts, NO. Although I've heard rumors that this type of transaction may be coming in the future. I think a 'reasonable' price for SunOption rental is .20/pt.

In terms of being transferred btwn owners...I asked about this, the DRI rep and the Sunterra rep I spoke with first said yes,,,but upon further research said NO, but a pgm to purchase additional pts if you are short of pts for a trip (buy-as-you-need) is on it's way. S/ be available within a month...

Because the sites have changed with the DRI buyout.

            Sale of SunOptions

Current EBAY item #120202618981 is an attempt to sell 2008 Club Sunterra points.

Instead of selling isn't a Club member allowed to in effect sell or rent by booking a specific reservation for a non club members at a Sunterra/Diamond resort without even a gift certficate as required thru II?

This person is selling the use of their points in their own account. THE Club currently has no option to transfer points between accounts, they should, maybe it's coming. There is no cost for guest reservations in THE Club (unless you trade out into II).
