Okay, I've read all the threads here & OY & I've read all the disclosures, rules & regs. I Haven't found an answer to these questions:
1. Can I book a 7 day reservation at a resort in the Trust I hold UDI in & deposit that week at an independent exchange company for exchange to a resort that is not available through II?
2. Can I book a week using Sunoptions in a Club Sunterra resort & deposit it for exchange in a company other than II?
3. Does Sunterra allow owners in the Trust or Club Members to exchange with any of the independent exchange companies?
4. If the answer to 3 is yes, has anyone done this & what company did you use?

I see that other points systems (Fairfield, HGVC) allow exchanging at SFX & TPI. I really don't want to be stuck using II all the time.

Hi Julie - SFX has many Sunterra Member that use us for their exchanges. They reserve a weeks worth of points in at least a one bedroom sleep four unit, and simply deposit that unit online into their SFX account for a future exchange.

FYI - You have the right to request the service of any exchange company you want. It would be unlawful and a violation of the Sherman Act (Antitrust law) to create a "tie-in" relationship with a specific service.

Thank you, Mark. I searched all the threads on the ask SFX forum & really couldn't determine if people depositing at SFX were doing their booking at deeded units under Club affiliation or not. I recently put my San Luis Bay Inn & Sedona Springs units into the Club & can no longer reserve them without using my Sunoptions. I wasn't sure if there were any restrictions.
