Holiday week, better get up early 10months out!!! There's not a whole lot of SLB inventory in Club Sunterra from my experience.

The Exact Details for Rare Club Reservations

      Spence

Could you advice us beginners on exactly what "getting up early means?"

Say I need a 3BR reservation at Royal Dunes in Hilton Head for the week beginning June 28, 2008 (WK26).

Must I get up at midnight on Aug 27th 2007 (10 months out) and make an immediate reservation minutes after midnight on the 28th?

Also, I'm out east, like yourself, so is Sunterra on Pacific time? So are we really talking 3:01am instead of midnight?

For those really important reservations you just have to have!!!!

I don't get up early much anymore except to catch planes or to see the sun rise on the top of Haleakala. Club Sunterra is on Pacific time, so if you are doing that then 3am ET is the time and I forget how they exactly figure 10months but I'd guess it'd be 3am on 28Aug.

I stayed at Royal Dunes this past 4th of July week (reserved through other sources than Club Sunterra). Only about 500 unit-weeks are in the Club out of a little over 3000 unit-weeks at the resort. Not much Club inventory and according to the resort, which is not managed by Sunterra SRM, the number of owners in Club is dropping.

You East coast folks crack me up

3am in the east is midnight out here in the west.

If Sunterra is on Pacific time then add 3 hours to when they open ( if you live on the east coast) to plan your call.

It's not when they open, it's when the calendar clicks to the next day for online booking. As they're on Pacific time that does happen at Midnight PT so 3am ET is the right time.

Can someone post an example how 10 months is calculated? Is when midnight clicks to 300 days out ?

For example, if I wanted a Jul 5, 2008 (Sat) check-in - 300 days is: Sept 9, 2007 (watching the clock, sitting next to my computer at 11:59PM PST Sept 8,, 2007).

                  Is this correct?

No, I think it is 5Sep watching the clock, sitting next to my computer at 11:59PM PT 4Sep.

Looking at the other thread you might check RCI rentals. They tend to have lots of Extra Vacations at this resort plus I think they may have something to do with the management of some of the resort. (At least some of the rentals)

Hi BBQ (nice handle!) - I am not sure what you mean by the "other thread". Also, I do not have RCI, only II, so can I still exchange for RCI resorts or are you suggesting I rent the RCI?
