Using this year's sunptions for next year's II trades/exchanges?

I was just going over the 2007 SunOptionsBooklet and noticed the following:

SunOptions
You may use your 2007 SunOptions allocation to
make an Interval International exchange to travel
in either 2007 or 2008, through October 31, 2007.
After October 31, 2007, you may only use 2007
SunOptions for 2007 travel at an Interval
International exchange or to a Club Sunterra resort.

Does this mean every Nov 1st, one can no longer use that year's annual Sun Option allotment to make reservation for the following/next year's travel to II or Sunterra resort? Or does this mean going forward, one can only use current year Sun Options for current year travel, meaning the end of 'rolling over' unused points to the following/next year to use (at II and Sunterra resorts) ?

50% by the end of Aug
25% by end of Oct

Booking II reservations
the way I've found it to work, for example right now 2007
if booked before 31Oct07 you can use 07 points or points from the year of the reservation (say 08 or 09)
if booked 1Nov-31Dec any SunOptions you have left in 2007 can only be used for Sunterra or II 2007 reservations and you've passed all the saving deadlines.

In Sept. of 2006 I deposited my 2007 Villa's at Polo Towers unit. In May I made an exchange request for any of the Hyatt's in Key West, FL. for December of 2008/. My deposit will remain good with I.I. until Sept. of 2009 or 2 years after my usage date for that unit (week 36 2007). As it stands now I do not expect a match until sometime between March and Sept. of 2008.

No.

Your points are not deducted until a definite exchange is made. Therefore if you started an ongoing search today and it didn't match until after 31Oct, next years points will have to be used.

So if I wanted to use this years points for a exchange next year, it might be best to carry those points forward to next year before requesting the exchange.

Yes, if you're not able to do an instant exchange and must intitute and ongoing search.

You answered my question with your example. I was just not sure from the quote from the SunOptions book whether this is a statement for every October 31st regarding current and next years points or they are no longer allowing use of current year pts next year once Oct 31, 2007 pasts - like you can NO LONGER use 2008 pts in 2009.
