  • Points carried/saved to next year

If I bank 2008's SO points into 2009, do they have to be spent in Sunterra affiliated resorts or can they still be exchanged through I.I.?

Presently I have my vacations pretty well planned out and booked for 2008. I'll end up with 26,500 SO points for 2008 that I'll need to do something with. My preliminary thoughts are to save them ahead for the year 2009 where my plans are still pretty much open to change.

You can use all those points for Club Sunterra reservations, I.I. exchanges, and exchanges through Club Select (you never know when you'll find a jewel listed there). Where you are limited is in the use of SO for other Club 'benefits' like FeeOptions, Airline tickets, MileOptions, CruiseOptions, etc where you can only use 26,500 each year even if you saved into or borrowed.
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

That's pretty much what I had thought but only because I could not find any limitations for exchanges in either the Sun Options or Sun Glances literature. I had seen where I have until April (silver elite extension) to decide on spending points for items other than exchanges and the deadlines for saving points to next year.

It will take a little while but I think I'm getting the idea of how to work this system. Since we often plan our vacations well in advance I should be able to take good advantage of Club Sunterra and SunOptions.
