  • Renting Sunterra reservation and Sunterra-II exchanged reservations

What are the rules behind renting:
    1) Sunterra resort weeks/units booked using sun options
    2) II resort weeks/units acquired by exchanging sun options

    Thanks.

I was told by the sales manager at Sedona Summit (when I asked about renting out units) that
1.You can rent units you have booked with your Sunoptions if you choose.
2.You can NOT rent anything you exchange at II as it is against II rules to rent exchanges.

This is my understanding as well.

I freely rent weeks reserved through club Sunterra with points, adding the renter on as my guest for that week.

However, II clearly states - NO RENTALS.

For the rental of Sunterra resorts booked using sun options, do we need to pay extra for a 'guest' certificate for our guests? or it is free

Sunterra does not charge for what they call an 'Alternate Guest.' Please don't give them any ideas!
