Timeshares can be down right dirty and people here know that but don't want to admit it.
Now that's one of the sillier things I've read here for some time. I think folks here are quite familiar with the seamy side of timesharing and are quite upfront about that information. We Just don't proceed from that knowledge to a conclusion that all timeshares are therefore inherently bad.
The situation is that timeshares can be good in proper circumstances, but you don't want to admit it.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”
“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”
I have said here before that I know timeshares work for some people and for that I am glad. You have to know how to "work" it. I want people to feel good about whatever they put their money into.
I state that not everyone that goes on vacation ' NEEDS " a timeshare and that is what all timeshare salespeople think and tell you.

There are other ways to vacation.
Any kind of reading of this site would show that people here don't think timesharing is the only way to travel. So what's the point of your statement above? What's the point of asserting that Timeshares can be down right dirty and people here know that but don't want to admit it. when that statement is obviously silly and false.
Geez, if you're going to resort "straw man" illogic, at least try to construct a straw man that has some legs under it.

I've come to the conclusion that discussing timeshare with someone (non-owner?) bent on bringing out only the negative in timesharing is a waste of band width. Bing apparently dislikes timeshares and see's little to no value in them. Yet, he persists on participating in a forum designed to assist people in getting the most out of their investment, be it purchased resale or through the developers.
At this point he's bringing absolutely NOTHING to a conversation about Sunterra owners MF's. He only brings distraction and attempts to turn the conversation towards his own personal agenda. IMO, when he does this it's best to just ignore the irrevelant post and move on as if it didn't happen.
He's not looking to see if timeshare is the right way for him to vacation. He does seem to be trying to convince timeshare owners the timeshare vacations are to expensive and not worth the price paid. I doubt anyone will ever convince him that timesharing is a viable and enjoyable way for him to vacation and I know he's wasting bandwidth trying to convince most of us we'd be somehow better off without our timeshares.
