New website is up (again). I never saw it the few hours it was up a few weeks ago. It looks very nice, crisp, fresh. Still a few glitches readily apparent, but I have gotten an 'error' on resort availability searches for Powhatan and Greensprings for months now on the old web site - and lo and behold, I got some results this time.

Check it out, comments?

• Lists when you joined.
• Still seems extremely slow.
• 'My Itineraries' seems to sort by itinerary# and not by check-in date.
• 'Account Summary' has a list of upcoming reservations, my list start in Aug08 when I have several reservations starting next week??
• 'My Accounts' list of contracts not in numerical order?

SunOptions are gone, it's just Points in THE Club.


FeeOptions have been devalued again, doubly. You only get 5 ¢/point when you trade in your points for Maintenance Fees or Club Dues, down from 5.85¢/point last year and ~7¢/point prior to that. In the same time span the Trust MF has risen form 6.5¢ to 7.3¢ to the current 8.03¢/pt.

there is a minimal $42 processing fee per transaction for Non-Elite Club members; $32 for Elite Silver; $22 for Elite Gold. Platinum Elite members receive FREE processing for their exchange. Or, save $5 off the processing fee by booking online in the Members Area.

While I don't see a link right now, Sunterra Select web site is still out there at SunterraSelect - Reservation Search. Somewhere, I thought I'd seen an II link, but maybe not.

New Web Site

Several observations . . .

I also can not find a link to II reservations any more.

Since I have used all my points in 2007 and 2008, the new site will not let me into the reservations section at all. The old site gave me full access and just forced me to borrow from 2009 if I had to make a reservation.

Naturally, these changes concern me greatly!

I don't know of any functionality for fixed week owners.

I only own a fixed week and last year was able to call and get access to pay my maintenance fees online through my online account. I was able to get in this evening and see that my maint fees are due. As for other functionality for a fixed week owner, I am not sure what there is.

When I called CS today, one of the final things they stated was that I was to start using diamondresorts.com instead of sunterra.com. They still are using India though as their call center and I have heard that is coming back to the U.S. soon.

I found the new site today, probably haven't checked in a few days.
It does look slicker than Sunterra's site...
At first most any search came up Error but then I was able to find available dates in Lake Tahoe and San Luis Bay Inn for January.
I can swear I saw an II link this afternoon, but not now.
One thing I did see on My Account is what I owe in fees for 2008...
Seeing I added two contracts in the last half of the year I wasn't sure what that would be but no real surprises... I owe more than it's worth!
(Purchased resale so the sale price was right... although I've noticed SunOption resale prices appear to be sliding down on eBay these past few months. I have about 2 years worth of resale data I've kept and plan to post it some day)
Hey... speaking of Diamond Resorts, has anyone been able to book SunOptions for Polo Towers yet? I've started there three or four times and it's decent.
