My sister and husband attended a sales presentation last week, the salesman was encouraging them to become elite members to recieve all the perks. He was offering them 7000 pts at $16,000. He said the only way they could achieve elite membership was to buy the extra points from the developer. Can you still buy resale, pay the conversion fee and add your points together to become elite members?

Times are changing at Diamond/Sunterra and no one here can give you any guarantees, but in the recent past everyone has been able to buy resale and pay a conversion or buy a small points package to bring everything together and get the Elite Benefits. Systems like Wyndham/Fairfield do not allow this, not sure about Shell Vacation Club, but that may be a template as Diamond has hired a couple of their heavy hitters.
