  • Used Points Scraps to get into Vacation Internationale

I had some unused SunOptions from 2007 that I saved forward. Last night I figured I would see what might be available for a short ski trip to Whistler.

I was able to book three nights at the Clock Tower in late March (Sunday check-in). I was also offered a three nights checking in on Saturday instead of Sunday. I'm also looking at a couple of other possible weekend getaways for resorts on the Oregon or Washington coast.

This looks like a great way to use up those remaining scraps of points that you often wind up with after completing other transactions.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

    “You shouldn't wear that body.”

If/when you can find availability, it's great. Also much more economical than booking a few nights with VI points because you have to use a full weeks worth of 'maid' points. With your location it works better as there are more/better resorts in your area.

Given the (apparent) limited access to VI resorts, I'm inclined to think that this type of short term stay using SunOption scraps may be the best way to utilize the VI resorts. Of course, that means the relationship will work better for those of us in the west.

I would be skeptical of getting into Clocktower (VI) or one of the Whiski Jack resorts for a week in prime ski season - those organizations ought to be retaining those weeks for use by their members.
