  • Dear Club Member

    November 2007

    Dear Club Member,

As you know, earlier this year Diamond Resorts International acquired Sunterra. One of the many exciting initiatives that we are working on is the enhancement of your membership through the re-branding of the old Sunterra brand into a true hospitality brand - Diamond Resorts International - which is built upon the basic principles of simplic*ity, choice and comfort. We intend to make your vacation experiences less complicated, offer you more options and ensure that we take care of you in a s!\'le of sophisticated elegance and comfort.

An initial focus for Diamond Resorts International is to unify our European Club with our North American Club with the goal of providing you with the flexibility and choice you deserve. As a member of THE Club"', which is the new name for the old Club Sunterra, you will begin to experience a more accessible Club product enabling you to plan your vacations with little effort and to enjoy every vacation moment without the complications and stress generally associated with planning vacations and holidays.

Recently, Polo Towers Suites and Polo Towers Villas were added as the newest affiliates to THE Club. Located in the heart of the "Strip," Both the Suites and Villas provide guests with a choice of luxurious accommodations, resort-style amenities, and easy access to world-class casinos, spas, entertainment and attractions, and is within easy walking distance to some of the most incredible mega-resorts in the world.

Later this year, the Broome Park Mansion House apartments will be available for reservations. Built between 1635 and 1638, Broome Park is located midway between Canterbury and Dover, among the gardens of Kent. This ever-popular UK destination features a Grade I-listed hall with elegant Jacobean-style architecture. Imagine your next vacation with THE Club in an English country house ... simply magnificent.

In addition, in an effort to streamline and improve the overall quality of our resort portfolio, we will be removing Carlton Court in London from the Club Sunterra Trust and European Resort Collection. Members have demonstrated that this location was not as popular as was first thought and, as a result, we will remove it from our portfolio and focus on more suitable locations - great locations that you tell us you would like to see.

We have extended the redemption dates for the 2008 Member Benefits for our Elite members, as well as the maximum redemption amount. Elite members may exchange up to their annual allotment or 50,000 per year, whichever is less, for any combination of benefits (specific programs may have lower maximum redemption values). The FeeOption dates for 2008 will be available from November 1,2007 to January 31, 2008. All other benefits including MileOptions, CruiseOptions, AirOptions and TravelOptions will be available as follows:

    Standard Members 1/1/08 - 3/31/08
    Silver Elite 1/1/08 - 5/31/08
    Gold Elite 1/1/08 - 7/31/08
    Platinum Elite 1/1/08 - 9/30/0S

Your 2008 Club Membership Fee invoice of $155.00 is enclosed. If you have any questions, please contact us at S77.Club.Sun (877.258.2786) or e-mail us at BilIingHelp@sunterra.com and one of our Counselors will be happy to assist you.

On behalf of all of us at THE Club, thank you for your continued membership and commitment to quality family vacations.

    Sincerely,
    Monica Sedeno
    Vice President, THE Club
A little old, but the news is that Monica Sedeno is no longer with DRI. I think that she was also on the BOD at CPGV. JC - do you know if that was an appointed position?

I am very curious about the contention as to Broome Park, given that most of the units there are owned by timesharers, and the lease of the Broome Park Owners Club runs to June 2015. Granted there are 40 unit/weeks or so that the association owns and COULD sell to Diamond for the interim, but they are all still listed for sale on the Broome Park Owners Club site. I wonder just where Cloobeck thinks he is going to get any significant inventory at this resort. In any event, prior to 2015 when the resort reverts to Sunterra's successors at the expiration of the lease to the Owners Club, it is just not availible, and certainly not anywhere near enough to replace Carlton Court, which had about 20 units or over a thousand unit/weeks, even if they acquired the weeks owned by the association.

Cloobeck also still seems to think timesharers are dumb with his contention that there was poor demand for a resort in central London. Central London probably has the highest demand for the lowest supply of timeshare of any place on the planet. The truth is not ''low demand'' but on the contrary extremely high resale value to close the place and sell it. In a private company, who knows what will happen to the money received. It could be a real windfall for Diamond's owners.

The East Regional Manager has been hired, I think, don't know the name. There used to be more USA regional mangers, now there are just two, East/West. West was at the Greensprings Annual Meeting because East had not been hired. The previous regional manager over Powhatan/Greensprings was phased out in the consolidation, or so I understand.

The Greensprings resort manager retired to move to God's country.

Many bookkeeping type jobs at Powhatan/Greensprings are disappearing (as of 31Jan) and moving to corporate as DRI gets a tighter grip on the resorts.
