The problem with Desert Paradise for us is that we really prefer to stay on the strip. If we're not on the strip, then we prefer to be in a hotel room in one of the off strip casino's. So Desert Paradise really doesn't have a lot of attraction for us.

Oddly enough, we did a tour at this resort way back when it was still an Epic resort. I've always thought it a shame that this resort went through the hard times it's seen between Epic, Sunterra and now DRI. When it was new, it was a really nice resort. I bet DRI brings it back up to those standards reasonably quickly. If you don't mind being off strip this could be a really nice resort.

I guess that's one of the few good things we have about owning a HGVC week. They have a large resort on Oahu. I have a friend/co-worker who has lived on Hawaii and her opinion is that Honolulu is just Kansas City with a beach. Her favorite island is Kaui. Still, my wife want to see the big waves off Oahu and Hilton has the Hawaiian Village there so Oahu it will be for our first trip to Hawaii.

I'm finding that owning in three different systems has it's advantages. So far none of the three are capable of filling all our vacation needs.

we just came back from our first Hawaiian trip, and it was 2 weeks at Ko Olina on Oahu. You will LOVE the island - LOTS to do for all types of ppl. I guess I can tell DW now that we aren't the only ones who have not gone to Hawaii, yet at this late stage in our lives !!!

Yes, Doug, we converted PLT to DRI CLUB to have benefits of two system types, each has its unique benefits/advantages. I figure, also with decent amt of MRPs to start (and we accumulate a bunch annually), we sort of have 2 1/3 system, almost your full three ! It's a wonderful tool/vehicle to travel, TS'ing is. Glad the opportunity to go DRI CLUB came up. We were 'this close' to selling to my sister or cousin last June (2006)!
