  • Newbee trying to understand

We are new CLUB members and we are having some trouble understanding all the is assosiated with this ownership. We have used all our points (3500) for this year already and this is only our first year. That being said we are looking to buy some more points. I know that we are not going to buy from a salesperson, as we have seen what you can get on ebay and other various sites. What I don't really understand is the converting part. We want to own points that we can use in all the diamond resorts not only that trust. We are hoping someone can give us a little insite. We are also wondering how it works with using your points to pay maintanence fees?

    Thanks
    Rose & Joel

Welcome Joel, I'm no expert by any means but I can tell you from what I have learned from here. You can purchase points resale (not from DRI) but they will only work at 19 trust resorts. To get them into the club you will have to make another purchase of small amount of points. People have been able to bring points into club for a fee was $2995. But that does not appear to have happened in quite a while. I believe DRI is trying to make everyone buy retail points to convert. I was recently offered to convert my deeded week into 8000 pts. If I would be willing to pay $6500 for 2000 pts. I chose to pass. I thought that was a bit high for 2000 pts. and I am also looking to purchase more points resale before willing to convert so I can get them all in at the same time. Hope this helps a little. There are what I would call experts on here to DRI that will be able to explain just about anything you want to know.

    Welcome to the family!!!!!!!

If you do a search on this forum; you will find a wealth of information concerning DRI.
      Read, absorb and ask questions.

      Welcome..

I believe Spence said in the last month or so, that he had spoken with the higher ups at Diamond Resorts, and that $2995 is the established cost to convert basically any size package and bring it into The Club. Therefore, it does exist, and it is being done. Any Sales Office should be able to do it - without buying extra points!

I would like to know which sales office is willing to charge the $2995 conversion fee without buying any extra points. I've tried, and they always say that it's ALWAYS been the rule that the purchase of extra points was required.

This comes straight from Spence on March 2nd. Apparently this is Diamond Resorts OFFICIAL Policy and every Sales Office should be following it.

Thanks for the info dwmantz. Winger thanks for the contact info. I will be trying this in the future. I want to pick up maybe a few more points before trying. I have a greensprings deed week, and just picked up 5500 points resale. Will be looking to convert in near future. Thanks again and I will update how that transaction went.

I tried to email PAUL.SCHOSPED@DIAMONDRESORTS.COM but it came back as undelivered. Is the spelling correct?
