When we joined last year, we were told the price was $159. I expected an increase this year since the exchanges were at no charge and an individual yearly membership fee to I.I. was $89. I'm not certain if only Elite members receive Gold membership or if every THE Club memberhip is Gold but, that adds (I think) another $50 to an individual membership with I.I.
However, an increase of close to $75/year for THE Club membership is a little on the high side IMO.Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

A sales center told me this week that new retail buyers get 10years of II Gold included. Don't know how true that is.... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

It's unfortunate that I need to carry a personal account with I.I. as Marriott does not include I.I. membership in it's MF's and has no internal exhange program where I wouldn't have to use I.I. at all. So in the end I pay for two memberships to I.I. rather than just one.Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

Unforetunately, with PT's Mr. C has taken a few steps that appear to be self serving and not always with the owners interest in mind. In the contracts with PT's there is a lot of control that the developer gets to hang onto for quite some time. Control of common area's is most glaring with the closing of the owners lounge without any owners input into the matter is but one example. I fear that there may also be a loop hole that allows the developer to sell out the height restriction for buildings in front of PT's as well. IOW, they sold owners on the fact they would ALWAYS have a view of the strip when that may not be true. For a few dollars more paid to the developer, it may be possible for someone to build in front of PT's ala the Cosmo/Jockey Club situation. If that's true (and it's a rather large if), then Mr. C could sell us up the river and ride off into the sunset with a pocket full of dollars, leaving PT's owners, esepcially strip facing in tower 1, with an essentially worthless timeshare on a greatly devalued piece of land.
I do not believe the Elvis themed hotel stands chance of ever breaking ground. I do not believe in this financial climate that anyone is going to get atttractive enough financing to build anything major on that narrow strip of land across the front of PT's. I do believe that, in time, something other than the Hawaiian Marketplace is going to be built there and that whomever builds it will dangle big bucks to someone to ease or remove the height restriction and that won't be the owners of the timeshares in tower 1.Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

just great. I can imagine PT, the Jewel of Diamond, being behind the shadow of a more glitsy high rise development. it will make that walk from the strip to PT seem even more like a walk down a shady back alley way in a ghetto : ( . right now, that walk along that narrow driveway in front of hawaiian place to PT already does not feel quite right at 2am.EMAIL me if you wish, do NOT PM
