I am having a problem getting Diamond to honor the Club specials. I would like to know if anyone else is having this problem and how they got it resolved. In my particular instance I am trying to book at Desert Paradise Resort in late June. The club specials state that the points are reduced by 50% through August at that resort. The unit is available for the period I want, however, the discount is not available online. I called the reservation office and they gave me an unbelievable run around. Even after talking to a supervisor I was not allowed to take the discount. I knew more about the specials than the reservation office. I had to correct them each time they made a mistake. I was told all of the following regarding the specials: they are for rentals only, they are for weekly reservations only, the 50% rate is what they were quoting, and the specials are only good if your reservations are made within 59 days of staying. They finally stuck to the 59 day ruling and refused to give me the 50% discount.

I haven't had a specials/INFOFIRST email in months. I've had similar problems at times but they've always been able to look at the specials list and give me the discount. If you're not speaking to someone in Las Vegas, asked to be transfered to solve the problem.

Problem solved
I followed Spence's advise. I called to make reservations again and was told I was talking to the Miami office. They had no clue about the club specials and why the web site did not reflect them. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor in the Las Vegas office and they accomodated me. Once I spoke to the supervisor the reservations were made with no problem and I was given the 50% point reduction as per the club specials. The supervisor was very pleasant and said that some locations on the web site did not reflect the club specials. She said it is a problem they are working on. However, I paid $105 for the cancellation policy and if you book over web it is $95. So I got stuck for an extra $15.
