  • Deluxe unit at The Suites at Fall Creek in Branson. WOW!

All I can say is WOW. This was a GREAT unit by any standards and the best unit we've stayed at in Branson to date......and we've stayed in several Branson resorts.

Granted this was one of the Deluxe units and not a standard unit but, all of the fabrics were top notch. The kitchen upliances were GE Profile stainless steel models and were of higher quality than I've seen in either Marriott or Westin units. The dishwasher didn't sound like a small turboprop plane taking off when it was run (you could actually have a conversation in the kitchen with it running). The small appliances were of better quality than the typical throw away kind you often see at timeshare resorts. The shower heads had 3 spray heads in one bathroom and 4 spray heads in the second bathroom. Furniture was of high quality as were all the furnishings. It was one of the best units we've been in since we started timesharing in '98.

Unfortunately, at this time it appears that there is only 1 building that has these units but, it appears they're making way for 3 or 4 more buildings with similar units in them. I understand that some people bought in because the old Sunterra was "affordable" but, I'm really hoping to see more of these deluxe style units as that is how we prefer to vacation. If DRI manages to offer the best of both worlds to everyone then they could easily become the company to own with.

I'm currently downloading my pictures of the unit now. As soon as I have my Webshots page completed then I'll post the link here.

One of the nicest Sunterra/Diamond units I've ever seen!

We're going to stay in a Deluxe unit at Powhatan for a few days in July. Supposedly, it will be equal to what you show here. However, the Powhatan units are not available to owners or club members normally. I've seen a few available, but only last minute. Diamond takes all of them for themselves to rent. Unfortunately, that's also the only way I'm seeing them!

We're at Powhatan right now. Despite being an elite level club member, and even specifically requesting a newer unit, we're in one that was renovated at least two years ago - stained carpets, peeling wallpaper, the things that keep Powhatan from being on top. If I sound jealous, I am!

Very swank! I recently visited Sedona Summit where the "Sunset Suites" have received comparable treatments.

I would assume that DRI is using the units in Williamsburg to attract new owners and to sell them on the newer deluxe units, which of course will cost more both in points and price. Hopefully as they sell and build more then there will be better availability.

Thanks for the pictures. Never thought of Branson before, but I will next year. Does the delux unit require more points? Or, for the same points, we can ask and see where the luck goes.

Sounds like an extremely good deal for Diamond - take all the Deluxe Units, rent them for almost $300 a night to new comers, get them to a sales presentation and sell them 5000 points for $20,000 which will not be enough to get them back into what they are staying in, so they'll have to buy more points. What a business model!

Well, Stephen Cloobeck owns the unsold inventory in the Trust so he has the points to reserve what he wants to use how he wants. The only question would be how the competition for the reservations go.

The Deluxe units appear not to be lockouts as the only 'Deluxe' in the new catalog is a 2BR, no 1BR or Studios. The premium for the Deluxe is about 39%!!

At Powhatan, the Deluxe units have mostly been available in the 60day window when inventory has determined that they won't be using them all for their best prospects, don't know how they wean them out.

Summer Deluxe units have just shown up in the last week or so and for the most part were only upstairs units when I saw them.

Most here know that I like Diamond and I like Powhatan. Was there Easter week and despite being an Elite member I was assigned a not yet renovated unit. I answered their email feedback survey and listed these problems:

                          Light bulbs out in hallway
standard light bulb in three way lamp
                          Hot tub would not heat
screw sitting in bottom of toilet bowl
                          unfinished/unpainted trim in 2nd bathroom
instructions for steam shower on wall; steam long since disconnected
                          torn screens throughout
                          bent screen doors throughout
some sort of filters laying out in bushes out front
                          filthy vinyl siding
                          torn/curling wall paper
Channel 6 ten times louder than all other channels
caps that make the metal table legs safe were missing
two finials missing from master bed posts
loriope (border grass) should have been trimmed long ago so new growth looks good and dead stuff is gone
edges of property are being used as a landscaping dump ground - gross
lattice railing on front of unit rotting, not painted/preserved properly
                          unit and doorbell labels missing
electrical receptacle in living room without cover plate!
2nd bathroom light fixture filled with dead bug bodies

I specifically requested a response, none received to date.

All that being said, I took my very particular 90yr old parents there and they were enthralled with the resort and the unit. Mom was born and raised in Billsburg but had never seen the place as they moved away 45 years ago.

Standard 2 bedroom is 6,000 points while the deluxe unit is 7,500 points. As mentioned, the deluxe units are not lock out units so there is no 1 bedroom deluxe or studio deluxe. The floor plan on the DRI website is the floor plan for the deluxe unit. I could not find a floor plan for the standard 2 bedroom LO unit. I was looking for one to compare layouts.
