Although we already had a room at Powhatan, we just returned from a one night, two half day, stay at the Great Wolf Lodge.
Hidden behind the Walmart, kind of on the corner of I-64 and 199, Great Wolf Lodge is an indoor waterpark with a hotel build around it, catering heavily to young families with children. This was our first stay at any Great Wolf Lodge, and our family absolutely loved it!
I would rate the hotel as probably 4 star, but cleanliness of the entire facility was absolutely top notch. The waterpark was excellent, and all other aspects of the resort focused around kids and families. Even the cost of food in the resort was reasonable.
We were able to begin our stay Wed at noon and although we checked out on Thursday at 11am, we were able to use the waterpark until evening on Thursday. The kids didn't want to leave at all. We will definately save one day of our annual Williamsburg Spring Break for Great Wolf Lodge in the future!
