  • Great Place to Visit when in Wburg, VA with Kids

Although we already had a room at Powhatan, we just returned from a one night, two half day, stay at the Great Wolf Lodge.

Hidden behind the Walmart, kind of on the corner of I-64 and 199, Great Wolf Lodge is an indoor waterpark with a hotel build around it, catering heavily to young families with children. This was our first stay at any Great Wolf Lodge, and our family absolutely loved it!

I would rate the hotel as probably 4 star, but cleanliness of the entire facility was absolutely top notch. The waterpark was excellent, and all other aspects of the resort focused around kids and families. Even the cost of food in the resort was reasonable.

We were able to begin our stay Wed at noon and although we checked out on Thursday at 11am, we were able to use the waterpark until evening on Thursday. The kids didn't want to leave at all. We will definately save one day of our annual Williamsburg Spring Break for Great Wolf Lodge in the future!

    Great Wolf Lodge

There is another Great Wolf Lodge A LOT closer to home for you, in the Poconos. Just go the the Great Wolf website for details.

And there's one in Niagara Falls, too, I think--that one might be closer to you than the Poconos.

          Thanks Frank!

I was aware of that, but we just never seemed to be able to get there. However, we will now!

The Poconos Great Wolf Lodge would make a great MLK day or even CMAS week couple of day escape. We can make it to Wallenpaupack in 90 minutes. I think another 60 should do it!

Still, can't say enough about the place. Just one warning to all. Rooms are $$$ by our standards.

If you sign up at their website, you occasionally get discount offers. Not very discounted, but better than nothing!
