Just Purchased Deeded W/DRI What R Points?

Hello! I am new to timeshares and I just purchased my first one (e-bay) with Suites at Fall Creek (Branson). My win is for deeded week 42 (floating red week 21-43) with a maintenance fee of $489.10. It said nothing about points, what are they and do I need them. Will I be jumped at my first stay to buy them? I'm still waiting on all the paperwork to go through, and am eager to take our family on vacation. Please help with any info I may need to know to educate me on my new purchase. Thanks! Newb

You don't really need them and yes they will try to sell them to you for about $ 3 k or more- telling lies like -the weeks system is being phased out.

Good to know that is a tatic (lie), I would have been terribly upset thinking my week was phased out unless I had more money to spend, which I don't! Thanks for the heads up.

You don't have points and don't have to buy any. Without points you will be limited to using the home resort time you own or, if you wish to travel elsewhere, attempting trades through an exchange service such as II.

Read this site and you will learn all about points (Sun Options). If you want to convert your deeded ownership to Sun Options and join The Club read the sticky "Latest Conversion info ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page)" on this site. Once converted you would enjoy the entitlements listed in the sticky entitled "Deeded ClubSunterra Members" If you don't ever want to go that far but want more than you currently have, another option to consider is the purchase of trust points.
