So much for ONE Club when they introduce 'new' destinations/benefits that are only for the Europeans. Why would there be a different set of destinations??

You think I haven't asked! This is ridiculous to offer to 'part' of THE Club. I'm sure I don't understand all the intricacies, but this is not a step in the right direction for unity.

And as a European member I'd like to make the comment that we'd much prefer European destinations. This is something that has been largely ignored by the membership (at least going by the DRI forums I've read) as it's not of great interest. Something's wrong somewhere.....

Marketing programme would be the first thing that comes to mind for me. Showing people all the wonderful exotic places they can go to will help seperate them from their money. No different to any other company in that respect.

That's exactly the complaint I've seen from the EU side, any of the Resort Options is a pricey thing anyway with hotel or 1BR accommodations costing near on 2000 points per night, you could stay close two three weeks in the summer in Williamsburg in a 2BR for a weeks worth of that.

Really it may be just a few units therefore not significantly changing the availability in Europe however, after looking at the destinations I wish we could take advantage of those affiliated resorts. It doesn't make sense to call it one club, when inventory is being taken out of Europe. Furthermore quite a few of the resorts shown in the list are located in the states, yet we have no way of booking them via club options. I really wouldn't mind what DRI is doing other than the principle of the matter, but to my knowledge the new affiliated resorts via Raintree did not provide additional European locations. My 2 cents

With Raintree we know it's a thousand unit-weeks. With these Resort Options I think it is different. I think that DRI pays cash for the unit if the resort/hotel has it available, DRI must then monetize some points to pay for it, thus the very steep points price.

I agree with the EU guys that that list doesn't help them much as they all don't travel across the pond although their money sure goes further here and they should all be thinking about visiting USA. If they want to see the Capitol of the free world, I have a place for them, no points required, just $ or € or £.

I completely agree with the ridiculous part, but what's even more ridiculous is the notion that DRI cares anymore about owners/members than Sunterra did.
