New Powhatan Refurbishment Project to begin immediately

Dear Powhatan Owner,

The goal of Diamond Resorts International® is to provide the best accommodations possible for our owners and guests. Recognizing that The Historic Powhatan Resort has a number of buildings that are in need of refurbishment as well as structural repairs, the Diamond Resorts International® construction team has spent many hours inspecting and planning for a complete interior and exterior renovation.

In order to provide an accurate scope and realistic budget and timeframe for this project, the Board of Directors of The Historic Powhatan Resort Owners Association has decided to use three buildings, one of each unit type, for s: Building 4 (A/B style), Building 16 (three-bedroom style) and Building 87 (C/D style). These three buildings will be taken out of service beginning May 15th, with expected completion before the end of this year. Repairs and replacements to siding, doors, windows, plumbing and other structural issues will be made, along with a complete refurbishment of the units’ interiors.

It was nice to read that they're starting to take action where action is needed. It was also nice that there wasn't a ps at the bottom of the communication that mentioned any sort of SA required to complete the refurbishment.

It seems like they are doing three models and to get it right (good!) and get a realistic budget. But in the end the owners will have to pony up if they want the resort brought back or improved. It desperately needs it. The only remaining question is can the management handle such a large undertaking. In the past they haven't been up to it. Lets hope the new ownership understands how to do it. All signs so far say they do.
