  • II Availability through Diamond Resorts International

Lots of people are complaining about their II account, but lately I just don't believe my eyes whenever browsing II availability.

This morning, I saw too many wonderful resorts at dream locations, e.g. Hyatt Sunset Harbor Resort, Hyatt Beach House Resort, Marriott's Frenchman's Cove.

I grabbed a FSA week in San Diego. Though it is a studio unit, I can't resist the temptation of trying the #1 resort rated by tuggers.

The total cost to me is like $420 for the week (MF pro-rated plus exchange fee). Who says TS is a rip-off?

Bing1950 for one! We have a great thing going with DRI's corporate membership in II. The value we get is tremendous.

    Here are a couple tips:

You will never see the lower tier II resorts online. If you want them, you need to call THE Club.

You may not see the very top tier like FSA online, if you know it's available you need to call THE Club.

Otherwise, if it's out there we see it, you pay by size/season/quality; very simple.

It's too bad that even though we all have individual II account numbers, we are not allowed to deposit non DRI weeks into this account.

I will soon have an additional II account set up for my Wyndham/FSP points - and I know people who have a 'regular' II account plus an SVN II and Hyatt II account - it sure would be nice to consolidate!

I can understand (sort of) why you couldn't 'consolidate' the separate corporate accounts but why you can't add your own deposit is beyond me.

I guess you're right, the right programmer should be able to make it all work.

I have come to dislike II vs RCI. I never find anything in II, but I never had trouble finding great exchanges with RCI.

II Getaways cost a little more than RCI's do and II doesn't have LAST CALL like RCI does. II has come to be a worthless benefit to my club membership.

                Agreed.

What is worthless is a PAID membership to II as that gets you nothing but hassles and the leftovers after the various prioritized groups have picked the inventory clean.

I LOVE the Corporate access based on points. For free no less!

                  Nothing is really free.

True. It's buried in our annual fees. But I do save the II annual membership ripoff and, even with whatever its costing, the Diamond fees are a good value for what we get out. So overall its a good deal.

Logic is out - Greed and Stupidity are in.

I agree - adding your own deposits is only logical - but logic is a lost science.

I'm very satisfied with the corporate membership in II. I just booked a 2BR Four Seasons Aviara online.

Personally, I have not had any problems with I.I. since becoming a memeber in 1998. Yes they do make the occasional mistake but, it's always been corrected to my satisfaction.

As to the amazing power of THE Club, I have yet to see it. My Club points really don't seem to be any stronger than my weeks were at Polo Towers. I still see the same resorts and availability when I do a search with my points or with my weeks (I still have an individual account).

Now I suppose if I had a dog trader that was put into THE Club, then I'd be extatic about my new found trade power. I do have such a week and getting it into THE Club would be a big improvement. However, using a decent 5 star week in Las Vegas has proven to be as good as THE Club when it comes to making an online exchange.

So, while other might be impressed with THE Club's "exchange power," I think anyone who owned a decent week before becoming a Club member will see that THE Club and it's corporate account isn't all that spectacular unless your week was something of a dog before you became a corporate account holder.

                            Thanks

If you have your DRI logon, go onto their site and click on MY TRIP, then at the bottom of the page where you'd enter the request for DRI there's a spot to click for II. The next page tells you your II # and the next page takes you to II.
